  • St John's Smith Square (map)

In the shadow of Napoleon: following on from our three concerts last season, we continue to explore the string quartets of Beethoven and his contemporaries, performing the magnificent Op.59 quartets alongside slightly different and unusual repertoire by lesser known composers of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Pleyel (1757-1831): String Quartet in Eb major B.368 (1810)

Schubert (1797-1828): String Quartet in G minor D173

Beethoven (1770-1827): String Quartet in F major Op.59 No.1
